What are express lashes, are they the same as semi permanent lashes and how long do they last?
We are asked about our express lashes a lot and we wanted to ensure everyone understands what these lashes are and what is involved in the treatment, aftercare and wear of express lashes.
Are they the same as semi permanent classic lashes?
Yes and no! So, express lashes ARE individual lashes but instead of each of your single natural lashes being isolated and a lash extension applied to every individual lash you have, express lashes are lay on top of your own.
They are not infilled but soaked off (included in your price) and re applied on every appointment. Express lashes come in a variety of lengths and can create extra length and thickness but cannot create a dramatic full volume look.
Express lashes are ideal for anyone wanting a natural look, do not want big dramatic lashes and for anyone wanting easy and quick maintenance.
How long do they last?
Express lashes last 2 weeks before a soak off and fresh new set (or just a soak off if your looking for occasional wear) is required.
How long does an appointment take?
This is the best bit! Express lashes take a maximum of an hour to soak off and re apply and so no lying on a bed for hours on end!
What is involved in the lash process?
We have created a quick little video which shows you the full process for express lashes being removed and re applied…
How do I look after my lashes whilst they’re on?
- Do not get your lashes wet for 24 hours after your lashes have been applied.
- Avoid steam (hot baths, showers, cooking etc) for 24 hours after they have been applied.
- Do not apply or wear make up whilst your lash extensions are on
- No oil based products should be applied around the lashes (this includes make up remover)
- To remove eye make up, we advise to apply make up remover to a cotton bud and gently remove the make up avoiding the lash line
- GENTLY brush through your lash extensions daily (avoiding the root and glue attachment)
- Be aware of how you lie when sleeping and if you could be lying on the lashes and affecting the positioning of your lash extensions (they may need a gentle brush in a morning)
- DO NOT remove your lash extensions yourself- your soak off is included in your price whether having them re applied or just removed.
It is normal to lose some of your lash extensions throughout the 2 weeks wear and this can depend on where your lashes are up to in the lash growth cycle, the season and your aftercare. If you do have any concerns whilst wearing your lashes, ensure you get in touch with the salon ASAP.
